Last.fm bought by CBS

BBC has now reporting that CBS Corporation (that owns CBS, which in turn broadcasts NCIS and CSI in America) has bought last.fm for $280 million, making it the largest UK Web 2.0 acquisition ever. last.fm opened five years ago in the UK, using the Audioscrobbler technology to use what you play on your iTunes or Windows Media Player on the web. The company will still run independently from CBS.
