So, just when you thought it was safe to get an iPad, an Apple blog is claiming that there will be another refresh of the line coming up in March – despite we already having a refresh back a few months ago that saw the launch of a proper 4G iPad and the iPad mini.
But however, citing people familiar with the matter, MacOtakara says that this new model will be thinner and lighter. They also claim that the design will be similar to the iPad mini,
Also in the works is a brand new iPad mini, with rumours claiming that it will feature a retina 7.9-inch display and include the A6X processor – the same processor currently being used by the fourth-gen iPad. However, a release date is still unknown.
It appears that Apple is moving towards a half-year cycle for the iPad line, as opposed to the yearly cycle it has followed. But does it show that the tablet market being really competitive that the iPad needs to do a half-year refresh? Maybe – but the iPad still dominates over Android and Windows 8.
