Microsoft has confirmed that the Surface will now enter retail stores – just a few weeks after its launch only through Microsoft Stores and through its website. For Australians, this will mean JB Hi Fi and Harvey Norman will start selling the Surface RT in stores from mid-December.
Initially, the United States and Australia will see Surface RTs sold at their local electronics retailer, before expanding. Microsoft has also said that it will still be available through its own stores in North America, and online for everywhere else.
“We’re excited to be working with JB Hi-Fi and Harvey Norman to expand the ways in which Australians can interact with, experience and purchase Surface,” Nigel O’Rorke, head of the Consumer Channels Group at Microsoft Australia, said in a statement.
We are already in mid-December already, so the product will either be out by this week or next. Anything after will mean that it will miss the Holiday Shopping Season.
