CES 2012 LIQUID IMAGE ANNOUNCES THE EGO – A MOUNTABLE MINI SPORT CAMERA WITH Wi-Fi
Santa Rosa, CA., JAN 7th, 2012 – Liquid Image announces the EGO, a mini sized mountable Full HD Video Sport Camera with Wi-Fi capabilities which will be displayed for the first time at the CES 2012 show in Las Vegas, booth# 36801.
This new mountable Sport Camera will complement the Liquid Image Video Goggle line by capturing a different video/photo angle other than the TrueView™ POV shot by the Video Goggles. The mountable EGO will be able to capture video or photos of an athlete as well as hard to capture images and videos from mounts on cars, bikes, motorcycles, surfboards, etc.
The product includes a tripod mount as well as a multi-directional mounting system that features a quick release lever. Other mounts for surfboards, roll bars, handlebars, and windshield suction cups will be sold separately and will make the Ego a versatile camera for a wide variety of activities in the Sport Camera market.
The water resistant EGO Camera sports a 136 degree wide angle lens and is only 1.6”x1.2”x2.5”H with a LCD display screen and two buttons to control the camera.
The EGO is also Wi-Fi enabled for real-time viewing and playback to smart phones, tablets, or computers. No external Wi-Fi attachments are required for wireless transmission. The Wi-Fi Ego can be controlled or viewed on a Smartphone with the use of an App. Multiple Apps are being developed to work with the Ego.
The EGO is easy to operate and has 4 modes – a HD 1080P Video Mode (1920×1080) at 30 frames per second, a High Action HD 720P video mode (1280×720) at 60 frames per second, a 12.0MP (4000×3000) camera mode, and a continuous Photo Mode. Control of the EGO can be either through the wireless remote control feature or through the buttons on the top of the camera.
The EGO can hold a Micro SDHC Card up to 32 GB which records thousands of photos or hours of HD video. Files may be downloaded to a computer through the High Speed USB cable provided or through a Micro SD/SDHC card.
Liquid Image developed the EGO for sports that do not utilize goggles and additionally to meet the needs of riders who were using more than one camera to capture their sport. Many sport enthusiasts now utilize Liquid Image video goggles for their POV shots along with a mountable camera on their bikes, boards, and other sports equipment. The different camera angles captured can be combined during editing to create a more complete picture of the experience. Usually, the mountable camera is used to place the user in the shot – hence the name Ego.
The EGO, model 727, is priced affordably with a SRP of $149. The camera will be available in a variety of colors and is estimated to begin shipping in June 2012.
