Lenovo expands Thinkpad laptop line

Lenovo ThinkPad S430

Lenovo has added a range of new laptops in the run-up to CES – with the ThinkPad Edge S430, E430, E530; the ThinkPad B series and the ThinkPad X1. All, however, promise to have excellent performance despite the pretty interiors.

The ThinkPad Edge S430 is a 14-inch laptop that runs on the latest generation of Intel Core processors. It also features an optional DVD Burner or a second hard drive to have up to 1TB of storage. The laptop, however, has been designed for those who are “image conscious professionals” and its design features a striking Mocha Black colour, and measures one-inch thin. The S430 will have a starting price at US$749, with a release date sometime in April.

Lenovo ThinkPad E530

The new ThinkPad Edge E430 and E540 also feature the latest Intel Core processors or AMD Fusion APU processors. The E430, however, is a 14-inch laptop; while the E530 is a 15-inch laptop. Hard drive configurations are up to 1TB of storage that can be combined with an SSD drive. In addition, it includes USB 3.0 ports, a high resolution web cameras and comes in Black, Red and Blue. Pricing for this laptop starts at US$549 and will be released worldwide in April.

The Lenovo B Series adds more laptop configurations with the B480, the B580, the B485 and the B585. The B480 and B580 feature Intel graphics cards, while the B485 and B585 feature AMD Fusion APU processors. It also features up to 1TB of storage, a HDMI port, USB 3.0 ports and a 4-in-1 multicard reader. However, these are priced at a really good price – pricing begins at US$499 for the new B Series of laptops and are only available in selected markets.

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Hybrid

Lastly, we have the Thinkpad X1 Hybrid laptop – it measures at less than 0.6-inches and weighs less than four pounds. It features a 13.3-inch display protected with Gorilla Glass, the latest Core processors, a high definition web camera with microphone and a HDMI out port. It also includes support for Intel’s Wireless Display technology and has robust security features such as vPro technology and a fingerprint reader.

The X1 will be out in Q2 this year with a starting price of US$1599.
