Metal Gear Solid joins Halo in remastering games – coming to PS3, XBOX 360

Fans of Metal Gear Solid, guess what? A collection of remastered games is coming your way. Yes, in the same vein as Halo with their Anniversary Edition, Konami is releasing the METAL GEAR SOLID HD Collection for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

The collection will have remastered versions of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty (originally for PC and PS2), Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker (PSP) and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater (PS2). These titles were released in the 2000s, but it doesn’t stop Konami from reaping from the recent nostalgia of playing Solid Snake.

And for those who really want to know: Hideo Kojima, the mastermind of the series, is overseeing the remastering of the titles. The games will be spread across two DVDs for the Xbox 360 and on a Blu-Ray disk for the PS3. However, unlike Halo’s Anniversary Edition, there is no word if there will be support for online multiplayer – though, it seems highly unlikely from the press release.
