Get ready for a tablet duel off. The much-anticipated Motorola XOOM tablet now being officially confirmed to be heading to Telstra, after weeks of rumours pointing to such a deal was going to emerge.
Telstra has confirmed that the tablet is being released in May, but has not announced its plans and pricing or an exact date yet.
The Motorola XOOM, announced at this year’s CES, features a 10.1-inch display, 32GB of internal storage, 1GB of RAM and a 1GHz dual core processor. It has two cameras, a 5-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, and will feature Android 3.0 Honeycomb.
The news also comes a week after Vodafone announced their pricing for rival Android tablet, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, the successor to the Galaxy Tab. Unlike the latter product, which has been featured on all three major carriers; Vodafone has an exclusive agreement to sell the Galaxy Tab 10.1, thanks to a worldwide deal.
