Vodafone has announced the pricing and date for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, the long-awaited successor to the Galaxy Tab. Vodafone has exclusive rights to sell the tablet, thanks to a worldwide deal, and will launch the device on May 4.
The company will let existing customers pre-order the device from April 20th, and will be able to get their hands on May 1.
Customers will be able to get their hands on the tablet on a pre-paid plan for $729 upfront with 6GB of data that expires in three months. Alternatively, you can also be locked into a 12-month contract with $259 upfront, or no cost upfront with a 24-month plan. Below are the plan offerings:
The Galaxy Tab 10.1 is Samsung’s latest attempt to take away market share from the popular Apple iPad. It features a 10.1-inch display with 16GB of internal storage, a 1GHz Dual Core processor and runs on Android 3.0 Honeycomb, the OS designed just for tablets. It also features two cameras – an 8-megapixel camera at the back and a 2-megapixel camera at the front.
Telstra is rumoured to have the Motorola Xoom, but they have not confirmed or denied the rumours.
