Just in time when students are set to return to school within the next few weeks, Microsoft has now made the latest version of its CAS-like Microsoft Mathematics software free to download, meaning that you can now make more advanced calculations on your computer.
The software replicates a fully functioning graphics calculator (or, what many students call it, a CAS calculator) and allows you to solve equations using the concepts of chemistry, calculus, algebra, physics and trigonometry. And for students, especially those doing VCE or HSC (or the equivalent), it may be helpful if you have forgotten your CAS.
That, or too lazy to get it out of your bag.
Anyway, it comes in 32-bit and 64-bit versions and is only works if you are on Windows 7, Windows Vista SP2 or Windows XP SP3. It will also require you to install the .NET Framework 3.5, which is also a free download.
You can download it Microsoft Mathematics at Microsoft’s Download site.
