Firemint acquires Infinite Interactive

While you may not know the names, you’ll probably know the games. Firemint, the creators of the iPhone blockbusters Flight Control and Real Racing, have just acquired Infinite Interactive, makers of Puzzle Quest.

Luckily, both of the studios both reside in Melbourne, and Firemint recently “expanded” their offices, so the move won’t be too hard.

Firemint founder, Rob Murray has said, “I’m incredibly pleased to welcome Steve (Infinite Interactive founder) and his team to Firemint. By bringing our studios’ talents together, we will be able to create even more awesome games.”

But the acquisition has seemingly been in the works for years, as Rob Murray also added that, “Steve and I have been talking about working together for a long time, and I remember him showing me an early version of Puzzle Quest. This inspired me to make a game during my own holidays two years later, which was Flight Control – and now, another two years later, we’ve finally found a way to work together!”
