Square Enix has unveiled the date of the newest game in the Final Fantasy series for the PC. The highly anticipated game, Final Fantasy XIV for the PC will be released on September 30, 2010. Square Enix has also revealed the standard retail price of the game, $49.99 USD, with the monthly subscription of $12.99 USD.
For those who can not wait for the release of the game, Square Enix will be releasing a Collector’s Edition of the game roughly a week earlier. The Collector’s Edition will be at a higher cost than the standard edition, setting a retail price of $74.99 USD. And for those who can not wait for the early release of the game, Square Enix will be holding the BETA phase of the game in early July.
The Standard Edition of the game will include 30 days free gameplay, the game disk and manual. For those who pre-order the game will receive an in-game exclusive item called Garlord Goggles, which help increase the speed of skill progression, via a redeemable code.
The Collector’s Edition of the game will include the same items as the standard edition, expect for the Garlord Goggles. Instead, the pre-order bonus is an exclusive item called Onion Helm, which speeds up the recovery after falling in battle. Extra stuff included are a DVD of the Behind the Scene into the making of the game, a Security Token, a Travel Journal, with concept art; a Right of Passage voucher to redeem a Right of Passage Certificate, and a cover that was designed by Yoshitaka Amano.
Final Fantasy XIV is the second MMORPG (Massive Multi-player Online Role-Player Game) released under the Final Fantasy series, being released under both the PC and PS3, which the PS3 version being released in early March 2011.
