Social networking website Facebook has announced that 65 million users are currently using its mobile service, dubbed Facebook Mobile, as it announces that it would add its Facebook Connect service and applications to its mobile website.
Facebook currently has two mobile websites, one for mobile browsers and another for touch screen phones (the Palm Pre, Android and iPhone); and have several applications on the iPhone, several Nokia phones, the INQ, Palm, BlackBerry, Windows Mobile and the Sidekick. In addition, it has a SMS service that is available on 52 operators in 25 countries.
The addition of Facebook Connect for its mobile service will now allow users to take their user information and comment on posts on mobile sites and allow users to use applications while using the mobile-optimised websites. It currently has Connect for the desktop web and for the iPhone applications.
