TechCrunch : Google in talks to buy Twitter

By on

Though turning down an offer to be bought by Facebook, Google is said to be in “late-stage negotiations” to acquire popular microblogging tool Twitter, which recently got a huge boost in popularity after being mentioned on the BBC on the UK and in Australia from Network Ten; according to TechCrunch.

Another source is being quoted to be in “early stages”, and are considering to work together on building a real-time search engine for Google.

If Twitter does go to Google, this would be the second time that founders Evan Williams and Biz Stone have sold their project to Google (their first was Blogger).
