By on

The AFP has revealed that Facebook paid US$65 million (or $99.04 million in Australian Dollars) to settle a lawsuit from ConnectU after they claimed that its founder and former college roommate, Mark Zuckerberg, stole their idea for the website.

Quinn Emanuel Urquhart Oliver & Hedges, who represented ConnectU, actually boasted about the fact that they got Facebook to settle with ConnectU, saying that it was a sound investment and that their opponents were the people “who needed a bailout.”

The settlement was not revealed until today, as Facebook refused to disclose the information.
