Optus accepts IOU credit – becomes a loan shark

By on

Need to make a call very quickly, but you are running low on credit? Don’t worry, Optus has got you covered with its recently released service called IOU Credit – hoping to regain your trust in them after the many problems like the 3G congestion and multiple network failures. The deal is that you send them a text and then you can get a $3 emergency loan for up to 3 days.

It is not for everyone, and its not free. To be eligible for the credit, you must have less than $1.50 on your pre-paid account; and while Optus does not charge you for the SMS itself, it will regain the $3 on your next recharge.
