RAZR V3 still top-selling handset in US — NPD

And you thought this phone would be dead over the other choices. According to new data from the NPD Group, Motorola RAZR V3 is still the top-selling handset in the United States. The popular phone, released to the mass market in 2005, managed to beat Apple’s iPhone, which placed second.

The RAZR V3 popularity is because it is sold at all four top-tier carriers in the US (AT&T, Verizon, Sprint and T-Mobile). However, its successors have not been well-received with the public, even though they are better features and improvements over the RAZR.

Third placed on the list was the BlackBerry Curve, with the LG’s Chocolate at number four. Rounding out the list, at fifth place, was the BlackBerry Pearl. But what about next year? Could we see the RAZR dethroned? We’ll have to wait and see.
