Microsoft supports jQuery, adds to Visual Studio

By on

Microsoft has said that it will now ship the popular jQuery JavaScript library with its Visual Studio suite, allowing developers to use the library to implement higher-level controls in the Ajax Control Toolkit, along with other helpful methods. The good thing is that Microsoft will not make any changes to the code, and the files will still adhere to the MIT license that jQuery is licensed under.

As well, it will contribute tests, bug fixes and patches to the open-source project, and will extend its product support to jQuery later in the year.
