OLPC XO laptops to be sold via Amazon

By on

Amazon will start selling the One Laptop Per Child’s XO laptop as part of the Give One, Get One program, according to an official from the OLPC.

Basically, the laptop is a low-cost and low-power laptop, which will run Linux and Windows on it and be sold to countries to help decrease the digital divide between the western nations and the poorer ones. Amazon is expected to sell them in late November, in time of the Thanksgiving celebrations and the Holiday season.

The Give One, Get One program, started last year, will allow one person to pay for two XO laptops, with one being given to the buyer and another is then donated to a child in a developing country.
