Beijing 2008 gadgets still roll on – National Stadium is now an MP3 player

And we thought things could not get any worse. A new MP3 player has been released in China, shaped in the Beijing National Stadium – also known as the "Bird’s Nest". And it has to be said that it is crap!

The player, according to the store that is selling it, can support "MP1, MP2, MP3, WMA, WMV, ASF, WAV, etc" – last time I checked, WMV is a video format; and no – this thing does not support video playback since it does not have an LCD screen. As well, don’t expect it to play any DRM-protected music.

It also has an FM tuner with "stereo radio" – which is optional, apparently; 7 EQ presets, a built-in microphone and recording. It comes in 1GB, 2GB and 4GB models.

I don’t think, however, that this is official merchandise; but hey, I could be wrong. I’ll stick with my Lenovo USBs, at least they are stylish.
