Security firm, Sophos, has warned that another variant of the Storm trojan has come. The first variant was carried via an .exe e-card as an attachment, however this variant can infect your computer from the web directly. It has seen a 6.3% of spam to be related to e-cards in the last 48 hours.
The United States Computer Emergency Readiness Team (US-CERT) has posted a warning up on it’s site, saying that it is “currently on the rise”.
Symantec has confirmed the resurgence, but said it has “not registered much new activity.” Only McAfee has labelled this variant as not a high risk alert, saying that it has not heard of any reports of the Storm trojan.
