Web inventor get’s Queen honour

Sir Tim Berners-Lee, the creator of the internet, has received the Order of Merit; one of the UK’s prestigious awards. The British academic created the first internet in Switzerland in 1991.

The Order of Merit is limited to 24 living people, all selected by the Queen. Previous winners include Winston Churchill and Mother Theresa.
