Microsoft has told some of its hardware partners that it has delayed Windows Mobile 7, the much anticipated upgrade to its cell phone operating system, according to CNET. XP not finished until June…
Microsoft has bowed down to pressure after several PC makers were upset that they could not sell XP anymore, even though the consumers demanded it beforehand, after the 30th of January 2008. Now, they have pushed it 5 months later, to the 30th June 2008.
We want to dominate you… in your living room?
In it’s latest push to become the central hub for all your media, Microsoft has quietly announced support for both DivX and XviD codecs. DivX and XviD are both the same codec, but both developed separately; with only XviD supporting both.
Leaked Vista Service Pack 1

The leak of the first service pack for WIndows Vista, imaginatively named SP1, means that we get to hear about the improvements before it gets a real release. APCMag reviewed a leaked copy of the software, and found that it’s pretty much your standard service pack fare: a bunch of bug fixes and noticeable performance tweaks. The only new feature is an option to create a recovery disk, along with a crapload of new install packages for Vista’s components, with no readily apparent changes. So, what’s Microsoft waiting for? Get it out the door already!

Microsoft Marketplace now providing Windows Vista Download!
Yes, you can now buy and download vista off the microsoft website. I was thinking, this will be another target for piracy. Some hacker is going to find the files and people are going to download right off the microsoft site. But why does microsoft want people to download off there site? I don’t know. Here is a screenshot of the download.

Never trust Windows Updates for Drivers…
Do NOT use Windows Updates for your drivers, like your TV Tuner Card. Windows does not have the information of what the product is and may mistake it for another driver this capable with Vista. Use the Manufacturer’s Website, as it contains updates for your product, not Bill’s product.

Hasta la Vista… XP?
Microsoft has announced to stop OEM versions of Windows XP. These will not include the retail versions, as far as we know. An OEM version is used by Toshiba, Dell and other laptop manufacturers as they are cheaper. They are usually 2/3 of the price of the retail versions and can be usually found in computer stores that are not affiliated with any big brand store.
