Toshiba Folio 100 tablet specs leaked

Images and specs for a new Android-powered tablet have been leaked on an Italian website NotebookItalia (translation via Google Translate). The tablet appears to be called the Folio 100 and looks like having the same dock connector as Apple on a cradle, but will also be running two app markets – The Android Market and Toshiba’s own marketplace.

Toshiba brings out dual-touch screen Windows laptop

Well, not a surprise that Toshiba will try and enter the touch-screen devices market. However, having two on a laptop? Called the “libretto W100″, the laptop has two 7-inch wide touchscreens that equate to, apparently, a 1o-inch widescreen display. The device comes out during Toshiba’s 25th Anniversary.

Toshiba, Samsung, Sony and Nokia align on new Mobile High-Definition Link

Toshiba has announced that it will partner up with Nokia, Samsung, Sony and Silicon Image to form a new working group for a new standard. Called the Mobile High-Definition Interface Working Group, it is supposed to be a new connector that will connect mobile phones or portable media devices to a high-definition television or display.  The new technology will be based on Silicon Image’s Mobile High-Definition Link (or MHL).

Toshiba set to show off new 512GB SSD drive

Toshiba has announced that it will showcase its brand new NAND-flash based solid state drives (SSD) at the Consumer Electronics Show 2009 in Las Vegas. The new drives are set to start mass production in the second quarter of 2009 (or between April and June).

Toshiba sees that DVD is the future…

After losing the format war against Sony (remember, the HD DVD vs. Blu-Ray thing), Toshiba has released its new XD-E500. The good things is that it uses Toshiba’s new eXtended Detail Enhancement technology (EDE) – which basically upconverts to fill the void between those upconverting players and Blu-Ray; and it costs US$150.
