Intel and Nokia to merge mobile OS to create MeeGo

The Year in Review 2009 – Australia in Perspective

The year 2009 has been an interesting year for Australians. Not only we remember the political scandals like Utegate and the Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O’s controversial lie detector stunt on radio; but we also remember how Australians got together and showed solidarity amongst one another via charity work after the Bushfires caused havoc to many Australians living in the countryside in Victoria.

Another game banned in Australia

alien_vs_predator_2_027

It seems as if the Australian Classification Office of Film and Literature are just trying to fry everyone’s bacon. Just recently after CrimeCraft’s overall ban in Australia and Left 4 Dead 2’s modified version, Aliens vs. Predator has been banned from store shelves. Explaining why it was banned, the board said the gameplay included explicit decapitation, dismemberment as well as stabbing through the chest, throat, eyes and mouth. To stay true to the movies, the Predator explicitly rips off human spinal cords and uses the rest as a trophy.

Time for a Brutal History Lesson

clip_image002

Brutal Legend has just recently come out a week ago and before i review it, I’d like you to listen and learn about the culture of Metal.

Heavy Metal as we know it started in the summer of 69’, referencing to the song of the same name. The most legendary of guitarists was famous that decade, playing at Woodstock and being recognized worldwide. His name was Jimi Hendrix. Also this decade we saw the startings of Thin Lizzy and UFO, who are some earl Heavy Metal bands. Later on came the 80’s, which most Head-bangers would define as “the greatest music decade of all time”. Hundreds of bands that started in the 80’s would become synonymous with Metal fans. Bands such as Metallica, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and Black Sabbath would become international cult bands that are still widely recognised as some of the greatest Metal bands ever.

Bladeless fan anyone? Dyson has you covered!

The Halo style desk fan

Summer is coming. We all know that (at least those who live in Oz). And what better way to cool off then to crank the air-con on set you desk fan to full ball. From the very company that creates world-first vacuum cleaners right through to those groovy hand-driers at public venues, Dyson has now come out with a fan that uses no blades and looks snazzy as well. How is the accomplised? Put quite basically, the Dyson “Air Multiplier” sucks air in from the bottom canister and routes it to the top ring that reminisce of Halo. They Air Multiplier is quite amazing for such a simple function but at a cost a bit more then your average desk fan.  A $300 setback is needed for the 10″ fan whilst an extra $30 is needed for the 12″ model. The Air Multiplier also oscillates and can be vertically tilted to blow air up or down as it spins.
