Telstra, Vodafone coup HTC Windows 7 Phones

Telstra and Vodafone will become the recipients of HTC’s new Windows Phone 7 lineup, lining them up as exclusive phones to kick start their Windows Phone 7 offerings in Australia.

The HTC HD7 (pictured above) is Windows Phone 7′s answer to HTC’s own Android-run EVO, and features a large 4.3 screen with a kickstand, similar to the HTC Evo. It has a 1GHz processor, 16GB of storage, a 5 megapixel camera with dual LED flash and 720p HD recording and support for Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.

HTC brings out stylish Desire HD, Desire Z

Thought HTC couldn’t get better? Well, it just proven that wrong. The popular mobile maker has announced two new phones that will join its lineup of Android phones – the Desire HD and the Desire Z. The two phones will run on Android, and will be out in major European and Asian markets. Desire Z is to be released in North America later in the year.

When we got the phone in our grubby hands, it was a Telstra exclusive. Days later, it was a phone on all carriers. This is the LG Optimus, one of two running on Android, and the only one here in Australia. Sony Ericsson to build PSP phone, threat to iPhone?

RUMOUR MILL: A report has claimed that Sony Ericsson is working on creating a brand new Android phone that will feature a new gaming ecosystem based around the Playstation.

The report, from Engadget, claims that the Phone will be a cross between the Samsung Captivate and the PSP Go, and features the controls of the PSP Go instead of a QWERTY keyboard.

RIM announces BlackBerry Torch – with new OS

We knew it was coming. RIM has announced a brand new phone, called the Torch, that hopes to compete with the other touchscreen offerings from Motorola, HTC and, of course, the iPhone. The phone will be running on the AT&T network in the US, with no word on Australian availability.
