BlackBerry’s entire smartphone lineup for this year has been leaked onto the web by CrackBerry, giving us a glimpse at the phones that RIM – the parent company – is expected to release during 2011, and possibly into the first quarter of next year.

In the lead up to the CES for mobile phones, the Mobile World Congress, images of a new Sony Ericsson Android-powered phone – dubbed the MT15i, or the “Vivaz 2″ – have appeared online after one Russian website managed to score the phone and has done a review.
So it turns out, our “Powered by” gets crude when I do it. Anyway, we cover the Verizon iPhone 4, Vodafone’s massive security fail and MySpace being sold off? Oh, and find out how ChatRoulette (remember that) is making some dough from an unlikely source.

Motorola isn’t the only phone maker pushing 4G, Taiwan-based company HTC is also creating phones for the 4G network, and just like Motorola, creating one each for the 4G networks in the US – Verizon, Sprint and AT&T, with the HTC ThunderBolt, EVO Shift 4G and the Inspire 4G (respectively).

Thought HTC couldn’t get better? Well, it just proven that wrong. The popular mobile maker has announced two new phones that will join its lineup of Android phones – the Desire HD and the Desire Z. The two phones will run on Android, and will be out in major European and Asian markets. Desire Z is to be released in North America later in the year.

Thought the iPhone would be a predominant player on all the carriers? Telstra has announced that it will be having a second Android phone on its network with the release of the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10, a phone which we covered back in November 2009. The phone features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 1GHz processor, along with 1GB of onboard memory with a microSD card slot to expand that. It also features a 8.1 megapixel camera and Microsoft Exchange support.
You knew it was coming – all the leaks and blog posts from all over the blogosphere – but now it has been confirmed and unveiled. Google has now made a mobile phone. Called the Nexus One, it is a HTC-produced phone that will run on Android 2.1 and will be sold by Google on its website, or by T-Mobile in the US. Verizon Wireless, another US carrier, along with Vodafone in Europe will sell the phone in the “near future”.
Samsung has announced that it will renew its contract with Qualcomm, extending the current contract to fifteen years, that will give the South Korean mobile maker access to the company’s US patents for 3G and the new 4G (fourth generation) technology.
