PlayStation Network is down in Australia, Worldwide

The PlayStation Network is currently down worldwide, with many users (including myself) unable to sign in or having a flaky connection.

The PlayStation.Blog US has simply posted:

We’re aware certain functions of PlayStation Network are down. We will report back here as soon as we can with more information.

RIP: PSP Go!

Sony’s digital-only PSP, the PSP Go!, has today “completed” it’s production and shipment in Japan. Sony will still offer repairs, support and firmware updates for the PSP Go, but the console will soon be unavailable to buy.

PlayStation Suite announced

Gaming on the Android OS just became a whole lot more exciting, with Sony announcing the PlayStation Suite.

The new framework will bring the PlayStation Store to Android 2.3 devices, and will launch with a PSone emulator in-built. There is also a promise for Android-native games soon.

PSP2 Rumour: 3G, OLED screen [Update]

The new PSP, expected to be announced this week, has had some big rumours flying around.

Today’s is from Nihon Keizai Shimbun, a Japanese newspaper, which is saying that the new gaming system will have 3G connectivity, provided by NTT DoCoMo in Japan.

Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy gets demo and new characters

Square Enix announced at their conference that their upcoming game Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy will have a demo released on the Playstation Store on the PSP available today in Japan.  Aside from the announce of the demo, Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy will include many beloved characters from the first thirteen Final Fantasy games.
