Samsung is looking to be a bit more like Apple with the Android OS with its new product joining its lineup of Android tablets and Android mobile phones – yes, it is an Android ‘iPod touch’-esque device that runs the full OS with slight modifications that make it pretty useless to call someone.

Sony Walkman goes sport-focused with new players

Breaking away from the classic iPods, Sony’s Walkman brand still has some place to grow – and that is in MP3 players designed for sport, with the announcement of the B Series and W Series line of MP3 players. The B Series features a new metallic design and offers an intuitive UI with its LED screen. It also includes ZAPPIN, Sony’s own take on Apple VoiceOver, except that it plays a four or 15 second snippet of each track until you find that song. The B Series also includes FM radio playback, alongside with playing MP3 files.
Viliv HD5 leaked – packs 32GB of storage, uses Windows CE as OS?

Companies are pushing their products before CES starts; and Viliv has decided to follow in the same footsteps. The Viliv HD5 is a PMP (Portable Media Player) with a 5-inch touchscreen and comes in 8GB, 16GB and 32GB capacity, and will have an expandable SD card slot if you feel 32GB isn’t enough to hold your music. It will also have a digital radio tuner – though it will not work in Australia because it is DAB and not DAB+ – and has a HDMI port.

Should we believe it or not? According to Twitter user crazyphoneguy (who posted it up), this is the Official Zune HD packaging. Though, I have never seen a Zune in my life – except in pictures – but hey, I so would want this to come to Australia, but we don’t have “HD Radio”.

Microsoft has today announced that it will be bringing out one of the worst kept secrets in the world, the Zune HD, this fall, where it will bring in some Xbox LIVE integration with its Video Marketplace, and will come in new markets, according to its press release.
New Sony Walkman lets you play dress up with your player
A bit creepy, but Sony has now introduced a new Walkman that will allow you to customise your player to meet your technicolour dreams, and allow you to dress it up to almost anything you want. The E Series will go out next month in 2GB (NW-E042), 4GB (NW-E043) and 8GB (NW-E044) capacities. It can playback music for about 28 hours, and only weighs 28g. It also comes with a FM radio feature in-built.
LEGO to bring in digital camera and other branded gadgets
LEGO has announced, with Digital Blue, that it will bring out several LEGO branded kid’s gadgets to the market, including digital and video cameras, MP3 players and walkie talkies; and all of them will have the usual LEGO brick motif, but they will not be made out of the bricks, since that would be stupid and would be hard to piece it back together when its broken.

CES 2009 : Samsung has brought out a new 3-inch WQVGA TFT-LCD touchscreen “multimedia player”, dubbed the Samsung P3; which features its “EmoTrue” touch interface with true haptic feedback. It also has the new sound enhancement technology called the DNS 3.0, and a 16:9 aspect ratio screen so it doesn’t letterbox.

Steve Ballmer, confirmed today that the Zune software will be coming to the Windows Mobile Platform.

NBC Universal shows will go on the Zune
Microsoft has started offering television shows on the Zune, two years Apple introduced it for its famous iPod, in an attempt to gain some market share.
But, it may have already gain one point against Apple; it has the programming lineup of NBC Universal, who pulled out of Apple late last year over pricing. NBC Universal has now offered its programming in many other outlets competing with Apple.

Microsoft has said that their latest edition of the Zune will be out on Tuesday. Microsoft originally announced the new models last month. The Zune is Microsoft’s answer to Apple’s iPod; but the Zune can allow you to share music wirelessly with it’s wi-fi functionality.
