AppleInsider is reporting that the new Mac OS X 10.6, also known as Snow Leopard, will feature a massive rewrite of its Finder application to be on its Cocoa environment, similar to most applications that Apple and other developers have been using to write applications. On Leopard (OS X 10.5), it still uses the old Carbon environment.

Mac OS X Running on a Dell Mini 9

Over at UNEASYsilence, they have succeeded into Running OS X 10.5.5 on a Dell Mini. They used a patched OS X install disk and installed it without the problem. Its reported than Wireless, Sound and Webcam works perfectly after some quick mods to the system. Head over here, to see more information.
Mac OS X 10.5 update released
Apple has released the latest version of updates for its Mac OS X 10.5 “Leopard” operating system. The update, which includes bug fixes and security updates, is the fifth to the operating system – which launched nearly a year ago.

Apple has finally launched details about the new operating system called Leopard. It will be launched on October 26 at 6pm. If you want it now, you can pre-order it from the Apple Store.
Office 2008 for Mac due in January 2008
Office 2008 for the Mac is set to be released soon, with it being launched in Australia on the 31st January 2008; with a mix of three versions.
The full version of Office 2008 will contain Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Entourage. The ‘Home & Student’ edition will feature Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Entour… basically the same thing. How weird?

iDelay… Leopard delayed to October.
Yes… the new Mac OS X version has been delayed, but not by production problems. It’s because of the iPhone hype that caused it. However, a beta version will be released to attendees at the Apple Developers Conference. Apple said in it’s media statement that due to it’s sophisticated software that it is building took a lot of time while building the iPhone, as it is a fork in the Mac OS X operating system.
Microsoft starts testing for Office 2008 for Macs…
The new Mac version of Office, titled Office 2008 for Macs, will run on both PowerPC and Intel based devices and is compatible with the new standard that Office 2007 introduced this year.
