Apple brings out version 3.0 of iPhone OS – now with copy and paste!
Apple has announced a multitude of new features on its preview of the iPhone OS 3.0, including several developer features that weren’t available and will allow those who are registered developers will get their hands on the new OS before the rest of us could get one.
Rose : iPhone to have Copy and Paste in Version 3.0
Kevin Rose, from Digg and Diggnation fame, has said that Apple will be bringing in copy and paste functionality, a feature that has been absent in the current and previous versions of the iPhone OS, in the latest version when it showcases it to the press on the 17th of March.

iPhone Dev team unlocks iPhone 3G
The iPhone Dev Team have announced that they have managed to unlock the iPhone 3G, a task that was seem to be impossible by many, and this is soon going to be packaged in a new application similar to QuickPwn. Codenamed “yellowsn0w”, the release date will be available to all on New Year’s Eve 2008. As well, you will need to have an iPhone 3G with the baseband firmware 2.11.07 or earlier.

Apple could have a serious security threat on its current firmware for the iPhone, and possibly the iPod touch (since they basically share the same OS), if a report from MacNN is true. iPhone subsidiary costs Optus $44 million
Optus has spent $44 million on subsidising the iPhone to make it cheaper, according to its parent company Singapore Telecommunications (SingTel), during the first quarter when the iPhone was released. However, its not all bad news for Optus – 55 percent of the iPhones were sold as Optus as the carrier.
Rumour Mill : New iPhone firmware has podcast downloads
AppleInsider is reporting that a leak in the new iPhone 2.2 firmware will see a podcast download function in bulit with the phone, instead of requiring to use iTunes on your main computer. The function is said to use Wi-Fi to download the latest episodes of podcasts by pressing a “Get More Episodes” link. However, it is unknown if you will be able to subscribe to a show as well.
