Could Microsoft and HP reveal a tablet before Apple?

CES 2010 BlockRUMOUR MILL: A big tablet announcement by Microsoft and HP? That is what the New York Times is reporting on the eve of Microsoft’s big Keynote that happens in CES 2010. Sources tell them that the tablet will be made by HP and could be out during the middle of 2010; and most likely would be a multimedia packed tablet with an e-reader and multitouch functions. However, is this Apple envy? Because Apple is said to be releasing a tablet sometime in the month as well. Will this spark a tablet war?

CES 2009 : HP Pavilion dv3

HP has announced, along with the Pavilion dv2 and the HP Firebird with Voodoo DNA, the Pavilion dv3. It features a 13.3” widescreen display, a backlit keyboard, a webcam,  and also a sleek, bronze look that simply looks marvelous. It does come with Windows Vista, but either in Ultimate, Home Premium or Business.

HP brings out new Firebird out to play

HP has announced at CES 2009 its brand new lineup of products for CES 2009; with two new entertainment laptops (Pavilion dv2 and dv3), the new HP Firebird with Voodoo DNA, the HP Mini 2140 and a new photo printing application for the Apple iPhone.

Malware included in HP USBs

HP has said that it had released some USB sticks for their Proliant server brand which may contain malware that could allow an attacker to take over an infected system.

The USBs affect a numerous amount of models of the Proliant line and are only contained in the 256MB and 1GB USB models. The malware has been identified as W32.Fakerecy and W32.SillyFDC. These two worms spread by copying themselves to removable or mapped drives and only affect Windows 95 – XP and Windows NT.
