Understandably, some of the biggest titles this year in gaming were, well, expensive and no one would be crazy enough to buy games in this economy unless you actually had the money to spend it on – or use Rudd’s economic stimulus package. Prosecutors have said to a Lorain County, Ohio judge that Daniel Petric shot his father and killed his own mother after his father took away and did not allow him to play the game Halo 3. Petric, who is now 17, sneaked out to get the game, but his parents caught him when he came inside the house, and his father put the game in a lockbox in the parent’s closet; where a 9mm handgun was also located.
Halo 3, Microsoft’s Entertainment division’s last hope to get a profit, has raked in $170 million in the US alone on launch day. This puts it as a bigger launch day than the Spiderman 3 movie and the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows book.
