Dell announces new XPS 15z, thin 15-inch laptop

Dell has, yesterday, announced that it will bring out a brand new 0.97-inch thick laptop called the XPS 15z – touted as one of the Dell’s thinnest and ultra-powerful laptops it has. Powered by an Intel Core i7 or i5 chip, no doubt that this is Dell’s competitor to the MacBook Pro.

Dell is about to join the long list of computer makers to have added 3D to their desktops and laptops, as it plans to have three desktops and laptops to allow customers to view their 3D content on their screen. And yes, you will need to wear the glasses.

Dell Streak to be launched later this month in US

Remember that Dell concept with that 5-inch screen? Well, turns out it’s no longer a concept. The Dell Streak (yes, weird name) is set to hit the US in late July after launching previously in the UK. Featuring the Android operating system – and sadly will be version 1.6 and not 2.2 – it also features a five-megapixel camera with a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, a microSD card slot and 2GB of internal storage.

Dell exec confirms Google talks about Chrome OS

NEWS IN BRIEF: A Dell executive has confirmed reports that the company is in talks with Google to put the Chrome OS – which is based on the browser – on its laptops. According to Amit Midha, the President for Greater China and South Asia for Dell, the company are talking about the use of the OS and its future. “We have to have a point of view on the industry and technology direction two years, three years down the road, so we continuously work with Google on this,” he told Reuters.

TG Podcast: Ep. 1 – We’re Back…

And we’re back with something new. Thanks to Stewart, we are getting back into the podcast game, though we are going to do this monthly. Yeah, I know, a monthly podcast.
