Think the Kinect is a passing fad, with the fact that it just happens to be a camera that manages to track almost every move you make and could have potential gaming applications to it? Well, it might not be as Microsoft has announced that the Kinect has sold one million units just in the past ten days.

Microsoft is upping its sales expectations of the Kinect, which had its official press launch yesterday, to five million units sold before the end of Fall, in part of the strong response of pre-order sales just before the upcoming Holiday Shopping Season.
With declining demand for the Nintendo Wii and the delay of the highly-praised Nintendo 3DS to next year rather than sometime before the big Holiday Shopping season, Nintendo has posted a net loss during the April-September financial period, the first net loss in the last seven years.
While the Wii started this crazy phase, Sony and Microsoft have waited years to perfect their own solutions – and they come out this year. Sony, however, has gotten theirs out of the gate first with their PLAYSTATION MOVE, using the magical wand-like controller to interact with the game.
