By on

E3 is right around the corner, and its that time of the year where the biggest names in gaming get a chance to show off what they’ve been working on. For the majority of us who aren’t able to go to the actual event in LA, the press conferences have always been livestreamed. But unfortunately for Australians (and other countries on the other side of the globe), the times are quite inconvenient […]

HANDS ON: FAST Racing NEO is FAST and already feels like another Wii U classic

By on

I’d never heard of FAST Racing NEO before PAX Australia 2015, and that’s a very sad thing. Mainly because it’s amazing. While behemoths Sony and Nintendo have kept classic sci-fi racers like WipEout and F-Zero in the backburner, or as I like to call it, ‘the farm’, FAST Racing NEO comes with a modern look, tight controls, and a buttery-feel, despite running on the limited Wii U hardware. The title comes from a […]

I love a well done indie game, and there were games galore at the Indie Pavilion at PAX Aus this year. One of the games featured in the PAX Indie Showcase was Hollow Knight, a 2D atmospheric platforming title created by Team Cherry. Team Cherry are a developer group from Adelaide who created the basis for Hollow Knight in response to the Game Jam prompt “beneath the surface.” I chatted […]

By on

I don’t know what Yo-Kai Watch is, but millions of kids do, and therefore I checked it out because I want to know what the kids are up to. But I still didn’t really get it. Released to Japan in 2013, the game is accompanied by a Manga series, a TV show, and plenty of other hot merch. It’s the Star Wars of anime, destined to be a hit. And […]

Tetris Ultimate is still a busted piece of crap, but Ubisoft are releasing DLC first

By on

You’d think Tetris would be a pretty simple game to develop for current-gen game consoles, and yet, in 2014, Ubisoft shipped a busted piece of crap they ironically call ‘Tetris Ultimate’. Yeah, right. While I’m not sure about the stability of the Xbox One version, on the PS4, the game still crashes upon boot for me, even after their latest patch, requiring me to turn off my network connection to […]
