CES 2012 announcements are slowly trickling in, and Logitech has announced a brand new mouse. But what is so interesting about this particular one? Well, as the name Logitech Cube suggests, it has a very untraditional design and you can easily switch it from being a mouse to a presenter.
Samsung has announced two new monitor lines – the Series 7 and Series 9. The Series 7 will come with two models, the Series 7 Smart Station and the Series 7 HDTV – the latter being an actual TV; while the Series 9 promises crisp picture quality.
European maker Haier has announced a very slim soundbar – the 40-inch SBEV40-SLIM soundbar. With a depth of 1.07 inches, that promises to have crystal clear surround sound despite the small profile.
PocketNow has been sent a picture of a LTE Windows Phone for AT&T and, according to the source, Telstra, supposibly called the HTC Radiant. While it looks like the already available (in the US) HTC Titan, PocketNow’s “reliable source” has said otherwise.
Announced at the same time as the Galaxy Ace Plus was Samsung’s Galaxy M Style smartphone – another phone that features a brushed metal design, a 4-inch Super AMOLED display and runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

Hitachi has announced two new hard drives before CES 2012 starts – the 1TB Travelstar 5K1000 and the 4TB Deskstar 7K4000. While they will sold to OEMs, Hitachi will also use them for its G-Technology branded external hard drives, meaning consumers will be able to use them.
Google appears to have resolved the issues of its fragmentation with the announcement that it will push its really sexy Ice Cream Sandwich theme – “Holo” – on all phones that have been approved to carry the Android Market. In other words, any major label phone will have to have Holo.
HP’s new unannounced Ultrabook looks like it has been leaked, with Engadget recieving an official-looking teaser for a HP Ultrabook, called the HP Spectre, from a trusted source at HP.Their source didn’t leave many details around, apart from saying that an official portal will be online tomorrow. Strangely, the device in the video doesn’t have keyboard, so hopefully tomorrow brings clearer news and possibly an explanation.
Windows 8 could come as soon as the third quarter of this year, with a report claiming (citing anonymous sources) that both Acer and Lenovo are set to launch their own tablet running the OS and a new Intel platform.
Wired Epicenter recently published an article on Windows Phone titled ‘Is Windows Phone’s Consumer Focus Killing It?‘. It’s certainly reasonable to propose that the consumer focus is a reason for Windows Phone’s less than spectacular adoption, but to say that Microsoft’s will to satisfy the end consumers to the highest degree possible will be a prominent cause in the platform’s possible demise is pushing it much too far.
Just before CES 2012 kicks off, Samsung has announced a brand new camera in its “DualView” line. Called the DV300F, the camera makes it easy to take snapshots with you or your friend thanks to its 1.5-inch front-facing LCD display.

An online report, citing various sources, has claimed that Intel will soon release a new 32nm System-on-a-Chip codenamed “Medfield” that will compete with NVIDIA’s Tegra and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processors.
VR-Zone has leaked the performance of its benchmark prototype tablet – running a 1.6GHz chip, 1GB of DDR2 RAM, a 10.1-inch display, and having Android 3.x Honeycomb installed. The tablet managed to score a Caffeinemark 3 score of 10,500 – according to the report. In comparison, the Tegra 2 scores 7500 and the Snapdragon MSM8260 scores 8000.
