LG unveils “world-thinnest” LCD screen – only 0.23 inches thick

Though Japan is known for making gadgets that you would like to crave for, South Korea’s LG Display has now become the new record holder for the world’s thinnest LCD screen, with the company releasing its new 42-inch and 47-inch models that are only 5.9mm thick – or 0.23 inches if you are using the other system – and are very light, only weighing 6.1kg and 7.3kg respectively.

Android to come to New Zealand

Vodafone NZ is set to bring in the newest Android phone, the HTC Magic, to New Zealanders in June, announcing it in the morning. While there is no word that Australia will be getting the phone, but Optus is the only carrier selling the only Android phone as of now, the HTC Dream.

Got to love green technology, and this is no exception. A park bench that uses solar energy to light up and power a Wi-Fi hotspot, and is made out of aluminium and recycled plastic – so it’s also environmentally friendly as well. LaCie has announced that it will be upgrading its 5big network storage device by creating a new 10TB version, among other new features – being the first company to bring out a device with that much of hard drive capacity. Among the new features includes support for Apple’s Time Machine and new multimedia functions that allows you to play your media on a Xbox 360 or PS3.

While it doesn’t have the numbers, it does have the hour, minute and second hands; and is powered by one AA battery. But don’t think that he only made one, he has made another 16 (according to his profile) – so this could be a great geeky gift for your mother, or for a birthday.

New Sony Walkman lets you play dress up with your player

A bit creepy, but Sony has now introduced a new Walkman that will allow you to customise your player to meet your technicolour dreams, and allow you to dress it up to almost anything you want. The E Series will go out next month in 2GB (NW-E042), 4GB (NW-E043) and 8GB (NW-E044) capacities. It can playback music for about 28 hours, and only weighs 28g. It also comes with a FM radio feature in-built.
