Samsung BD-ES6000 Compact Blu-ray player
Samsung has announced two new Blu-Ray players as part of its “Smart Blu-Ray” line, which promises features such as a full web browser and a new way of turning your personal DVD collection into digital content that can be streamed on many devices such as your laptop and your phone.


Intel has now officially taking a stance in the mobile processor race with agreements with Motorola and Lenovo to use their new Medfield – now known as Atom Z2460 – rather than NVIDIA’s Tegra, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon and ARM’s processors.

Sennheiser has bought out brand new headphones at CES 2012. The HD 25 Amperior and the HD 700 are both quite expensive but offer great sound quality. The Amperior has an aluminum casing which is either blue or silver in colour, microfiber ear pads and a fully extendable head band for maximum comfort. It has a detachable microphone and inline controls. According to The Verge, the music was “puncy and loud” and the audio quality was “pretty impressive”.

Aloneside the BD-ES6000, Samsung have announced the BD-ES65000, a larger, very similar model. Apart from the disc-to-digital software from the other model, Wi-Fi, DLNA, this model also has 2 HDMI ports, which is meant to streamline your devices into this player. So instead of plugging a console into the TV, you plug it into this.

Remember the AR.Drone? Well, its manufacturer, Parrot, has announced that it will be getting an upgrade. The new version features a brand new look and, now, can record video in 720p HD resolution.

Now we all know that our phones are more powerful than a 10 year old desktop, though we aren’t really using this processing power for anything other than answering calls, texts, tweeting and checking Facebook. We have seen initiatives like the Raspberry Pi use this phone hardware for a cheap, low power desktop though nothing that really combines both the phone and desktop experience into one. Wouldn’t it be nice if you could walk into work, and not have to look at all the emails you have just read on your commute.

After a recent partnership with Ultraviolet, a company which can create digital copies of Blu-Ray and DVD movies that have the software, Samsung has announced a Blu-Ray player that supports it, the BD-ES6000.
NETGEAR have announced their new Powerline 500 Nano range. This very small device allows you to convert any old power point into a “high speed” network connection. With speeds up to 500Mbps, the Powerline 500 Nano will happily play HD videos, SD videos and even 3D video. Of course, these devices can be used as a simple network port for use with a Computer, Blu-ray Player, SmartTV, Set top box, gaming console plus everything that has a Ethernet port. NETGEAR have mentioned that these devices have a low latency, which would be perfect for a gamer needing that fast connection.
