TECH.GEEK is announcing a change in how the site is written and managed.

Managing the Site
The site has received many hacks in its past and now will see the removal of the suspects from their Editor positions into Author positions. Further action will be taken, and many suggestions will be taken. The suspects have been identified as James Davis and Stewart Wilson, both who have confessed into hacking the server where the site is held before.

James Davis and Stewart Wilson have been suspects for a long time, as their knowledge of PHP and MySQL are better than mine, which is none. Stewart Wilson is on leave until March/April. If attacks don’t happen in the four-five weeks, I may consider placing their accounts as Editors.

Writing
TECH.GEEK wishes to announce that we have some addition to the team. Sean Hyatt will be writing for TECH.GEEK and will also start writing the now-restarted category of Tips, Tricks & Hacks. He was added yesterday.

Also, another addition is Luke Chandler, coming from all the way from SRS NZ (a.k.a LeoNet). You may have heard him from our TECH.GEEK Podcast. We don’t know what he will be writing, but it is most likely going to be all subjects.

Their RSS and Atom feeds will be up soon in our RSS pages, and also some brand new tag RSS feeds too.

reawakennetworks on Netvibes
The reawakennetworks has now a universe on Netvibes under my name. The universe is to give people access to the latest news from alfahosts to XC Hosting, with TECH.GEEK, the blog network and many other members in between.

If it becomes popular, it may catch on.

So that’s about it on TECH.GEEK’s plans for 2008. It only took us about a few days to figure what we wanted to do.

Terence Huynh
Head Editor of TECH.GEEK.

Our media content site, TECH.GEEK Studios has the second episode of our fabulous podcast.

Episode Summary:
CES has come and gone and some pranksters have decided to turn off the TVs around the event. Well, have no fear… Panasonic has a 150-inch plasma that would replace the screens. Well, maybe only one… if you can afford it.

Participants:
James Davis
Stewart Wilson
Tom Wood

Users who are familiar with the site have noticed that we have a bit more information on the site. Yes, we have.

We have now put up our entire archive from March 2007 to November 2007 on this site. All of our archives have been rearranged to the new formats. However, some posts won’t have any tags.

So enjoy the site. We are soon going to put a calendar on the archives and also having a listing of categories on the front page. As well, more advertising on the archive pages. Sorry if you don’t like it.

If you haven’t clicked on the RSS link, you should now. The link will now showcase the feeds on our site. Now you can have the choice of feeds for each category, tag or by your favourite author. Now that’s choice.

So enjoy the new TECH.GEEK.

Head Editor

Hey,

TECH.GEEK wishes everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays (for those who are not Christian) and a Happy New Year!

TECH.GEEK will still be updated for the rest of the holiday period - plus in the beginnings of next month. However, we will be in limited mode; meaning that most updates in Technology News will be missed. Sorry, but some of the team have taken some extended leave.

Anyway, I’ll leave you with the holidays…

The TECH.GEEK Team.

P.S - reawakennetworks is getting another update!!!

What was your favourite event in 2007? We want to know. We, here at TECH.GEEK, scoured the entire web to find the top 50 events that you could vote for. Was it the Gamespot Editor being fired story? Telstra Porn Scandal? The Y2K7 debacle? The NBC Dateline Reporter being chased out of Defcon? It’s all up to you!

You have to choose 10 out of the 50 listed below,

So vote now! Voting ends the 30th December 2007 at 11:59:59pm.

Thanks!

If you have been to our site just a few hours ago, we just had a major hacking problem where I couldn’t log in and take control over what happened. Thankfully, our Security and Internet editor James Davis managed to restore access and we now have no problems what so ever.

So thank you so much for your patience, we are conducting a full investigation on the matter. We hope to bring full content of the latest technology news by 12pm today!

We are currently looking for some writers who love to volunteer their time. If you know English and you don’t copy & paste… apply today. Register and just e-mail me at terencehuynh@reawaken.info to be a writer.

Your volunteering keeps our site alive…

Thank You!

We are back from the dead…

As you can see, we have a new design… there are also some flaws. Our design team over at antinomie are working hard to get some of these flaws fixed, and you can expect a full version by Melbourne Cup day.

Also, news updating won’t begin until after Melbourne Cup day (or during… don’t know). As well, we have plans to bring the archives back into the site.

Have fun,

Terence Huyn

OMG OMG OMG OMG MySpace change!! NOT
Whats so good about myspace anyway? LOL. MySpace have had a design change, looks really good, sorta web 2.0ish. I’ve posted a screenshot below. Why don’t you take a look for yourself. There is a yellow bar at the top of the old homepage asking you to switch designs.
