Square Enix, the developers of its blockbuster series "Final Fantasy" and "Kingdom Hearts" have launched a brand new game for the iPod, adding that to its long list of consoles it has developed games for.

Titled "Song Summoner: The Unsung Heroes", it will go on sale for $4.99 in the US, 4.99 euros in Europe and 600 yen in Japan. The game is also developed exclusively for the iPod as it wants to take advantage of some of its functions and features.

The gameplay is basically this: You choose a song and that song determines the types and abilities of your character, or known as "Tune Troopers".

Most iPod games are just ports from versions from mobile phones.

And we also know that this is going to fail since there are no sales targets. Also, the company’s shares fell 1.5 percent in late afternoon trade at the Nikkei.

Microsoft announced today that it has lowered the price of its Xbox 360 to AU$349. We spoke to Microsoft’s Xbox Group Product Marketing Manager, Jeremy Hinton, to get details on the price cut and how Xbox 360 is performing in the market.

First up, let’s look at the new pricing. The Xbox 360 Arcade console (256MB memory unit and five Xbox Live Arcade games but no harddrive) is now retailing for AU$349 (previously AU$399). The Xbox 360 Pro (20GB harddrive and headset) is now AU$499 (previously AU$579). The Xbox 360 Elite (120GB harddrive, headset and HDMI cable) is now AU$649 (previously Au$729).

These are some aggressive prices and now mean that the Xbox 360 Arcade is the cheapest next-gen console on the market (ahead of the AU$399 Wii) and all three versions of the 360 are cheaper than the AU$699 PS3.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl

The buzz on the game Super Smash Bros. Brawl is amazing and many people are going as far to say that it is the greatest game that will ever come out on the Wii console.

The old characters are still in the game like Mario and Link, but new inclusions like Wario and Zero-suit Samus have brought through new and more exciting prospects. Some aspects like all new finisher moves where each character has a different finisher as well as new added features of being able to create new levels. Brawl contains 41 selectable stages, with 29 initially available, the levels often change form and can even change season, day and night.

The game due to be released on the 26th of June 2008 in Australia could well be the game that proves the Wii is a good console rather than the stereotype that it is bad.

Electronic Arts has said that it would extend their hostile takeover of rival Take-Two by one month. The $2 billion offer expired on May 16 before the deadline.

EA launched an unsolicited bid for the "Grand Theft Auto IV" publisher on 25 February for a $26-per-share, which represents a 50% premium on it’s closing price on 22 February. The extended deadline will see EA’s offer expire on June 16.

Take-Two rejected the bid, saying it undervalues the company.

Peekaboo is known for selling a range of pole-dancing equipment for home use, including a pole inspired and endorsed by the former Playboy model Carmen Electra.

It has also told MTV’s Multiplayer blog that it would look into providing a mobile version of the game.
