Security firm Secunia has reported an “extremely critical” vulnerability in media-streaming program Apple QuickTime. This flaw, which affects the latest versions of QuickTime, 7.x, which has not been patched and could allow a hacker to gain remote control of an affected system. It lies in a boundary error where the program processes Real Time Streaming Protocol (RTSP) replies, according to Secunia’s advisory published on Monday.

Breaking News : Rudd is now PM
Seven Network is reporting that Kevin Rudd is now Prime Minister, after John Howard has phoned Mr. Rudd to concede defeat. However, Howard may still be a MP, with Maxine McKew still not claiming victory as it is on “knife edge”.

Breaking News: ABC Election analysts says Labor Wins
ABC election analyst Antony Green says Labor is on the cusp of victory and needs only two seats in Queensland to claim victory.
Mr Green says on current figures he predicts Labor winning 78 seats with a majority of six. On those figures he says he can make a cautious prediction of Labor forming a government.

PM In Danger in Bennelong
Prime Minister John Howard could be on track to become the first sitting PM since 1929 to lose his seat, with Labor challenger Maxine McKew ahead by more than 6 per cent after preferences with more than 9 per cent of the vote counted in Bennelong.
Deputy Labor leader Julia Gillard says the signs are good for Ms McKew but it is too early to call the result.
