Thin and Beautiful. Apple’s MacBook Air recently got an upgrade that saw it finally get some much decent specs – such as an Intel Core i5/i7 Sandy Bridge processor and an updated integrated graphics card. However, doing that saw the axing of the MacBook. And in my view, making this as their “entry-level” Mac, or in fact notebook, is a big mistake.
The new version of Apple’s operating system, Mac OS X Lion, has had 1 Million downloads in the first day of being released. This record is Apple’s fastest download record in the company’s history. In addition to Apple updating the MacBook Air in an overall refresh of the Apple Store, the company has also updated its low-end Mac Mini, giving it updated specifications, a new graphics card and Thunderbolt support.
The MacBook Air has been updated as part of the wider store refresh, and now comes with some updated specifications, Thunderbolt support and with a new low price that makes it now the entry-level notebook for its MacBook line.
Apple is now selling the latest edition of the Mac OS X – version 10.7, or dubbed “Lion” – on its App Store. However, at the same time, Apple has quietly killed off the polycarbonate MacBook from its lineup, making the MacBook Air the cheapest MacBook sold by Apple.
Mac fanboys can now squeel. Apple has finally set a release date for the new version of Mac OS X, dubbed “Lion” at the company’s earnings meeting, after the company promised that the OS would be released sometime this month.

iPhone’s, iPod touches and iPad’s are great. But Apple sure does love to keep it’s ecosystem closed. That’s why Jailbreaking was discovered. The practice, frowned upon by Apple, allows any user to do whatever they want. But Apple usually locks it down in updates.
Apple’s lawsuit against Amazon over the use of “App Store” is said to be “likely” denied by a federal judge after hearing the final arguments from the company, according to a report.

Steve Jobs today presented Cupertino Council with plans for a new Apple Campus set to hold around 12,000 people. The new spaceship looking campus is set to be built on land the Apple bought off HP a while ago and will feature many environment based innovations.
The new building which Job’s wants open by 2015 will feature a 40% increase in the amount of employees able to work in there yet a 30% decrease in how much land in used by the building. There will also be a 350% in the amount of landscaping on the site as well as a 60% increase in the amount of trees. This building will feature a cafe which will be able to cater for 3,000 people in one sitting.
Steve Jobs just delivered one more thing at WWDC 2011, announcing iTunes Match.
For US$24.99 a year iTunes Match will scan your ripped (or pirated) music and match it with 256kbps DRM-free AAC songs from iTunes servers.
Last but not least from WWDC 2011, Apple has announced MobileMe is dead and has been remade into iCloud. Apple admitted that MobleMe tarnished their reputation and has announced iCloud, a much better service, will be completely free instead of $99.
