The “Nokia” name on its Lumia devices may soon disappear. The Finnish company has confirmed that its Devices and Services division will be renamed to Microsoft Mobile once Microsoft acquires the company later this month.

The name change was leaked out by NokiaPowerUser when they published a leaked email to suppliers. Nokia has since confirmed the “Microsoft Mobile” rebrand by informing users about the change in its privacy policy.

“After completion of the sale of Nokia’s Devices & Services business to Microsoft, the new Finnish company Microsoft Mobile Oy assumes responsibility for the personal data of that business’ customers,” it says.

“Microsoft Mobile will continue to collect and use your personal data in the same ways and for the same reasons as Nokia, and you should experience no difference as a result of the sale.”

But will this be the last time we see a Nokia-branded phone? Not exactly. Nokia could potentially come back and try again – but only after December 31, 2015. That scenario, however, will most likely won’t happen.
