LG has today announced a brand new update to the Optimus G in Korea. Called the Optimus G Pro, the new smartphone features a 5.5-inch IPS display with a pixel density of 400ppi (well, that’s according to them), and runs on the brand new Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 chipset.

The Optimus G Pro is packed with a lot of powerful hardware. Inside is a 1.7GHz quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, a 13-megapixel camera with LED flash and a front-facing 2.1-megapixel camera. It will support 4G LTE, come with Android 4.1.2. Jelly Bean, and has a storage capacity of 32GB – that can be further expanded up to 64GB thanks to a microSD card slot.

According to LG, it also comes with “advanced UX features” including Dual Recording and VR Panorama. Dual Recording allows you capture video on the front and rear cameras simultaneously; while VR Panorama lets you capture a full 360-degree view. Of course, it also includes other LG features like QuickMemo.

The phone comes out in Korea this week. However, there is no word on Australian availability as of yet. Press release below.
