BlackBerry fans rejoice! The PlayBook won’t be as expensive as you might have thought. RIM has publicly announced that the tablet will be sold under US$500, which would make it in the same price range as its nearest rivals, the Apple iPad and Samsung Galaxy Tab.
The US$500 pricetag is nice to hear – especially when the PlayBook will only have Wi-Fi connectivity initially. However, will it make a difference to the iPad? Only time will tell when we get our hands on it. But, hearing the stats on the device: it runs Flash. Meaning that, yes, you can play those Flash games on your tablet.
Can the iPad do that? No.
The PlayBook will come out in the United States in the first quarter, before expanding into international markets.
