Communication Shutdown raises Autism awareness

By on

Has your Facebook or Twitter feed suddenly gone quiet today? A global fundraiser for autism called Communication Shutdown is why.

Organisations dedicated to giving people with autism a better life have joined together all over the world to let us live a day in their shoes.

How? By daring us to give up Facebook and Twitter for just one day. And that day is today for Aussies.

The whole reason behind the day is that Social Communication is a challenge to people with Autism and shutting down your social network of choice for November 1 will give you some idea of the challenge people with autism face.

While it might be a little late to participate, you can still make a donation and stop communication for the day here.
