UPDATE (26 May 2010/Terence Huynh): Vodafone Hutchison Australia have unveiled their plans. Read More.
The mobile carrier Vodafone Hutchison Australia have announced that they will offer dedicated iPad plans when the 3G iPad comes out in Australia late May. The plans will be available with both brands 3 and Vodafone. The statement was released by Vodafone Hutchison right after Apple’s decision to delay the release of the iPad internationally. Vodafone Hutchison haven’t commented on the pricing structure or if they will be selling the iPad with the plans.
The device would of been originally released late April but Apple had to push back the international release date due to unanticipated high demand.
“We will announce international pricing and begin taking online pre-orders on Monday, May 10. We know that many international customers waiting to buy an iPad will be disappointed by this news, but we hope they will be pleased to learn the reason—the iPad is a runaway success in the US thus far,” said Apple.
Information regarding the launch of the iPad in Australia is still scarce so far, with Vodafone Hutchison being the first to release plans for the iPad.
It has been anticipated that due to the launch of these dedicated iPad plans, you won’t be able to merge your mobile phone internet data with your iPad. Many iPhone users (like me) are shocked at the decision.
UPDATE: Telstra have just released a blog post on their “Telstra Now” blog regarding the release of dedicated iPad plans to be released. (More Information Here)
