Thought the iPhone would be a predominant player on all the carriers? Telstra has announced that it will be having a second Android phone on its network with the release of the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10, a phone which we covered back in November 2009. The phone features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 1GHz processor, along with 1GB of onboard memory with a microSD card slot to expand that. It also features a 8.1 megapixel camera and Microsoft Exchange support.
Like all Telstra phones, it will feature several Android-only applications from Telstra like Mobile FOXTEL and Yellow Pages. It will on Telstra’s 3G network on May 4, with $0 upfront on a $110 Ultimate plan (that gives you only a very very tiny 150MB of data every month) or on the $99 cap plan – both are under a 24-month contract. If you don’t want to pay for a plan, you can get it for only $1099.
