Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet to be ‘tweeted’

UK broadcaster Channel Four and the Royal Shakespeare Company have announced a brand new project that will see the famous William Shakespeare’s tragedy Romeo and Juliet being performed on Twitter. Yes. You have heard this right. This is no April Fools joke. The programme, called Such Tweet Sorrow, will go live on April 12 and other than the title and the announcement of it commencing, not much has been revealed.

This comes after an announcement that Channel Four will boost its arts programming budget to £6 million every year, most of it coming from the decision that it will not renew Big Brother in 2010.
