So you may have already heard the news, but Lenovo kick starts it CES press releases with three brand new laptops – the ThinkPad X100e, and the ThinkPad Edge (there are four other ones, but we’ll cover them in a separate blog post); all featuring AMD’s new VISION Pro platform, and will feature AMD dual core processors.

The X100e will have an 11.6-inch display, along with a full-size keyboard with a multitouch touchpad and the standard Trackpoint; along with 802.11n Wi-Fi support and Bluetooth and 3G connectivity as optional extras. It is available now for $499, but that is only for the single core processor model, as the dual core models will be out in the first quarter of this year.

The Edge (that’s the one above), however, will launch with a 13-inch, 14-inch and 15-inch models and will feature a new keyboard design and removal of rarely-used features. The 14-inch and 15-inch models feature an illuminated keyboard. The models will also have the touchpad. Along with that, you have the option to run it on an AMD dual core processor or an Intel Core 2 Duo processor; and it will come with Wi-Fi and optional Bluetooth, 3G and WiMAX.

The Edge 13-inch model is out now for $549; while the other models will be sold in the second quarter of this year.
